BLACKPINK‘s JENNIE has an empowering message for all the “pretty girls” out there with her forthcoming single, titled “Mantra.”
The highly anticipated track from JENNIE was just announced today, and has been scheduled for a release this October 11, 2024. To mark it’s official announcement, the “You & Me” hitmaker shared a fifteen second snippet of the track on her social media platforms — backed by a video of her consuming a cherry.
The beloved K-pop sensation recently took to Instagram to share a teaser video showcasing six inspiring mantras for confident and empowered women: they are driven, practice self-love, show compassion for animals, avoid unnecessary drama, prioritize good sleep, and treat themselves with care. Interestingly, the video emphasized a seventh mantra: “Pretty girls don’t do drama.”
In the caption, JENNIE simply wrote, “Presenting,” letting the video speak for itself, leaving fans to eagerly discuss the possibility of the hitmaker’s next and upcoming project. Earlier, Jennie teased her followers with a playful video featuring her pasting a poster on a wall with the text, “Calling all the pretty girls.” As posted on the caption to the video’s official YouTube page, the forthcoming debut album is set to be titled as RUBYRED.
Just recently, JENNIE and her very own label and production company ODDATELIER partnered up with Columbia Records. In addition to this exciting shift, she announced that she will be dropping a new solo single in October.
Beyond her role as a member of the globally renowned girl group BLACKPINK (which is scheduled to make a comeback later next year), JENNIE has also made a name for herself as a solo artist, with hits like “Solo” in 2019 and “You & Me” in 2023. She was also featured on The Weeknd‘s chart-topping track “One Of Your Girls” alongside Lily Rose Depp, following the trio’s collaboration as part of HBO’s limited series The Idol.
