James Reid is ringing in the holiday season with the release of his new single, titled “You Deserve It.”
The newly released track sees the beloved musician honing in on his R&B-leaning sound (albeit with a Christmas twist), even describing it as “a little gift for the Christmas season” on his official social media platforms. Also included on his post was a larger-sized version of the song’s cover artwork, featuring a number of special guests and cameos such as fellow musicians BINI and Darren Espanto, as well as other celebrities like Jayda, Jeff Moses, Cassy Legaspi, Maria Ysabel Ortega, and Miguel Tan Felix.
“You Deserve It” marks the latest release from the “Randomantic” hitmaker, following his string of singles that were released over the past year, which include “Blessed” and his collaboration single with TJ Monterde, “Pahinga.” He also dropped the deluxe edition of his latest EP, titled jgh, which features the singles “Sandal,” “Mirasol,” and “Hurt Me Too,” and with “Pahinga” now included as part of its track list. Additionally, the deluxe edition of the EP also includes live renditions of all the songs on the record.
In honor of jgh’s forthcoming first anniversary, James also released a mini-documentary on the behind-the-scenes process of bringing the record to life, which can be viewed in its entirety below:
