Today (February 21), J.Cole took to the blog portion of his official website to release a surprise single entitled “Clouds.” On his blog entry, the emcee wrote, “Just wanted to share. Made this a few days ago, then I added a second verse and was like, ‘Man I got a blog now, I can put whatever I want up there.'”
Delving into his decision to step out of the spotlight, the record offers a vulnerable glance into how the rapper has been coping with being scrutinized by the public eye, and coping with the rapid change that the modern era ushers in. The single itself has yet to be released on official streaming platforms, and as of today, can only be accessed through J.Cole’s blog.
Building up his momentum towards the pending release of Cole’s long-anticipated seventh studio album, The Fall Off. The album has been in the works from as early as 2018, where it was revealed that the final track of his renowned full-bodied feature, KOD, was entitled “1985 – Intro to the Fall Off.”
