K-pop sensation IU is officially marking her return to the music industry with her comeback pre-release single titled “Love Wins.”
The news was confirmed by her management EDAM Entertainment as IU posted two official teasers of the song on her X (formerly Twitter) account, the first of which features an eighteen-second clip featuring a tear dropping down IU’s eye, while the second one showcases an enigmatic still from the upcoming music video of the track. In the photo, IU is seen sitting across the table from BTS’ V (Taehyung) and can be seen with a vintage video camera in her hand. The details posted on both announcements state that Love Wins is currently slated for release on January 24, 2024, at 6 PM (KST).
As part of her highly anticipated comeback, it was also announced earlier this month that IU has also recently joined the popular social media platform TikTok. The chart-topping artist, who released of her last EP Pieces in December of 2021, has been a dominant force in the K-pop industry since her debut in 2008. Over the last two years, IU has joined forces with the likes of BTS’ SUGA and Kang Seungwon.
Known for iconic hits such as “Good Day”, “The Red Shoes”, “eight”, and “Lilac”, IU has solidified her status as one of the most celebrated soloists in the genre. In addition to her musical achievements, she has successfully ventured into acting, making her debut in the drama series ‘Dream High’ and recently starring in the film ‘Dream,’ which was made available for streaming on Netflix.
