Marking their first comeback in nine years, South Korean project girl group I.O.I have officially reunited with the release of their new music video, “Suddenly,” which dropped on May 19, 2026.
Celebrating the group’s 10th anniversary, the emotional synth-pop track serves as the lead single of their reunion project, capturing feelings of longing through sentimental lyrics and soft production. Credited as a co-writer, I.O.I member Jeon Somi adds to the song’s authenticity in conveying the group’s long-awaited homecoming.
Accompanying the single, its music video combines a nostalgic grainy filter and bright, playful visuals, following the members in their own casual setting before finally coming together towards the end in matching white shirts and denim jeans. The visualizer closes with the message, “We meet. We leave. We meet again,” reflecting the song’s heartfelt theme and the group’s development through the years.
Arriving alongside the music video, the group also released their third mini album, I.O.I: LOOP, featuring six songs including its lead track “Suddenly” and a special archive song “Goodbye With A Smile,” originally recorded in 2016 and released last May 4, 2026.

Ahead of the release, I.O.I launched a new Instagram account on March 9, 2026 to announce their reunion concert tour, LOOP, with scheduled performances in Seoul, Bangkok, and Hong Kong. Participating members include Lim Na-young, Chungha, Kim Se-jeong, Jung Chae-yeon, Kim So-hye, Yoo Yeon-jung, Choi Yu-jung, Kim Do-yeon, and Jeon Somi, with Kang Mi-na and Zhou Jieqiong sitting out the group activities due to prior commitments.
Formed through Mnet’s survival show Produce 101 in 2016, the group officially concluded their activities after their 2017 farewell concert, sending off the members to pursue solo careers and join other girl groups such as WJSN, Weki Meki, Gugudan, DIA, and Pristin.
