Over the weekend, Hev Abi debuted his latest single titled “TANGGERO (SHOT)” — a fresh Afrobeats dance track that unveils a different side to the artist’s production style. The chart-breaking rapper initially debuted the track on Soundcloud last August 27 before releasing it on all streaming platforms on August 29.
Hev Abi has consistently been releasing music throughout 2025, collaborating with Mr. Wao on “Jasmine Camber” in June and Unotheone on “Yung Inis Ko” in May. Additionally, earlier this year he came out with his house/hip-hop hybrid EP bahay namin maliit lamang, which has been selected as one of Billboard Philippines’ best albums of 2025 (so far) — read more about it here.
In recent news, the downtown Quezon City rapper was selected as a representative of the icons in Billboard Philippines’ Pinoy Hip-Hop Mixtape 2025. In an exclusive interview with Billboard Philippines, the artist opened up about his initial reaction when he first started going viral: “Well siyempre, nakakatuwa, kasi ‘di mo ma-imagine ganun kadaming tao ‘yung, kumbaga, ma-di-dig yung ginagawa mo.” (“Of course, it’s amazing because you can’t imagine that so many people would dig what you’re doing.”)
Furthermore, Hev Abi recently kicked off his ‘Sobrang Downtown’ Philippine Tour in Bicol last June 16. The rest of the tour dates and locations have yet to be revealed, but you can read more details here.
