After much anticipation, the 2025 MAMA Awards have officially announced the nominees for this year’s ceremony.
Several of the biggest names in the K-pop industry have received nods at the highly anticipated awards show, with superstars like JENNIE and aespa leading the charge with the most nominations for this year. Both artists were able to receive a total of nine nominations each, spanning various prestigious categories like Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Artist of the Year.
Other notable acts like G-DRAGON, BOYNEXTDOOR, and ROSÉ earned several nods for the ceremony, while rookies like ALLDAYPROJECT, AHOF, CORTIS, and Hearts2Hearts were also recognized under numerous categories. For this year’s awards show, only music released from October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025 fall under the applicable eligibility period, with the winners determined through a mix of expert evaluation, sales data, and fan participation. Artist of the Year / Artist Categories:
- 40% expert judging
- 30% streaming & downloads (20% Korea + 10% global)
- 30% physical album sales
Song of the Year / Genre Categories:
- 40% judging
- 60% streaming & downloads (40% Korea + 20% global)
Album of the Year:
- 40% judging
- 60% physical album sales (eligible only for albums exceeding 1 million copies)
In addition to the aforementioned category percentage, this year’s awards show also includes fan voting, which plays a significant role in the “Fans’ Choice” categories. Fan voting will take place via the Mnet Plus app and X (formerly Twitter) using the hashtag #2025MAMAVOTE, with the newly-introduced “SUPER FAN” initiative (which closed applications on September 14) also allowing selected fans worldwide to influence nominations and receive exclusive event perks at the ceremony
The 2025 MAMA Awards is scheduled to take place this November 28 and 29, 2025, at the Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong. Check out the full list of nominees for this year’s ceremony below:
