Hyoyeon, Yuri, and Sooyoung of Girls’ Generation have officially joined forces as the legendary girl group’s newest sub-unit, HRS, with a new song.

Released on August 31, 2026 under SM Entertainment, their debut single, “Skibidi,” also arrives with the B-side track, “Lowkey In Love.” The release was officially announced on August 22, 2026, with the promotional rollout beginning on August 26, 2026 through individual and unit concept photos.

Going with a minimal production, the members pose against a clean white backdrop in simple white tank tops and blue jeans, putting the focus on their individual charms.

“Skibidi” blends a house-driven sound with a hip-hop breakdown and rap section, creating a rhythmic and upbeat dance track. It incorporates abrupt beat switch-ups — a signature touch often associated with SM Entertainment releases and Girls’ Generation’s discography.

Centered on the idea of living life on your own terms, the single encourages listeners to dance to the beat and enjoy life to the fullest. Its rap breakdown sums up the message: “Don’t go waste your time / Celebrate your life / You know it too / The choice is yours to make.”

The release arrives alongside a performance video that opens with Hyoyeon, Yuri, and Sooyoung stepping out of a car onto a white floor-to-ceiling set before shedding their jackets and launching into the energetic choreography.

HRS marks the latest subunit formed from the iconic South Korean girl group, Girls’ Generation (SNSD), which debuted on August 2007. They went on to deliver hits including “Into the New World,” “Gee,” “The Boys,” and “I GOT A BOY.”

Girls’ Generation last reunited as a full group for their seventh Korean studio album, FOREVER 1, in August 2022.
