Independent art rock band fitterkarma have dropped their new single, “maryclaire,” showcasing the group’s signature dark, emotional lyricism.

Released on June 19, 2026, the track explores undying love and unwavering devotion through poetic lyrics and an alternative rock sound enhanced by orchestral strings. Featuring intense lines such as “Kapag mawala ka / Sa’king alaala / Ako’y magdudusa / Masakit na parusa” and “Tila ang puso ko’y nakaposas / Sa’yo,” the song portrays unconditional affection for a figure referred to as Maria Clara.

fitterkarma is composed of Joao De Leon on vocals and acoustic guitar, Sophia “Soph” Miranda on bass and backing vocals, Sanders Bayas on drums, and Mikee “LORY” Mendoza on electric guitar. Written by De Leon and arranged collaboratively by the band, “maryclaire” also features string performances by violinists Leigh Cellano and Dylan Abejero, violist Kriszen Ampalayo, and cellist Patrick Espanto. The track was mixed by Emil Dela Rosa, mastered by Caleb Madison, and engineered by Daniel Monong.

First teased on May 19, 2026, the band shared an eerie visual of candles being lit before a shrine. A handwritten lyric teaser and release date announcement followed on May 27, 2026, before fitterkarma gave audiences an early performance during their first-ever Wish Bus appearance on June 3, 2026, alongside their hit singles “Kalapastangan” and “Pag-Ibig ay Kanibalismo II.”

Both songs reached No. 1 on Billboard Philippines Hot 100 and Top Philippine Songs, with “Pag-Ibig ay Kanibalismo II” topping the chart dated January 3, 2026, and “Kalapastangan” reaching the summit on the chart dated June 13, 2026.

Following the release of “maryclaire,” the four-piece act is set to perform at Love Laban Pride Festival 2026 on June 27, 2026 and will also join the lineup for LaLaLa Fest Manila 2026 on August 21, 2026.
