Early viewers of the brand new Eraserheads documentary Eraserheads: Combo On The Run (which begins its theatrical run today, March 21) were treated to a shocker of an announcement after the end credits rolled — the reunited rock icons will hold a big outdoor show in Metro Manila this year.

Entitled ‘Eraserheads: Electric Fun Music Festival,’ the event will be held on May 31, 2025 at the SMDC Festival Grounds in Pasay City. No other details have been divulged — like which other acts will be on the bill, as well as ticket prices — but early bird tickets will go on sale starting Monday, March 24, 2025, exclusively via PalawanPay. Watch this space for updates.

The ‘Electric Fun Music Festival’ comes after the Eraserheads’ successful ‘Huling El Bimbo’ world tour, in which the band played shows in various cities in the USA and Canada, as well as in Singapore, Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, and Doha in Qatar. They were most recently in Australia and New Zealand this March, having performed to massive crowds in Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, and Auckland.

In addition to this announcement, viewers of the early screenings of the documentary were reportedly teased with the possibility of new music by the reunited quartet. If Ely Buendia, Raymund Marasigan, Marcus Adoro, and Buddy Zabala are truly back together in the studio, their output would be the Eraserheads’ first new recorded material since releasing the dual single “Sabado” and “1995” back in 2014.

Eraserheads: Combo On The Run is in cinemas nationwide starting today, March 21, until March 23, 2025, and is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. Early reviews have been largely positive, and it has been deemed a must-see for Eraserheads fans and Filipino music enthusiasts alike. Be sure to catch it this weekend, and you might even be treated to a surprise performance by the band at a random theater.
