ena mori has just released her latest EP, entitled Ore.
The Filipino-Japanese avant-garde artist first secretly announced the record on her Substack account, calling the 6-track EP as the “grown-up sister” of her previous EP rOe, which came out on August 8, 2025. Adding to this, ena mori described Ore as “grittier,” “rougher,” and “raw,” as well as “dancey” and “energetic.”
Released on February 27, 2026 (Friday), the EP was produced and mixed by Tim and Sam Marquez of ONE CLICK STRAIGHT respectively, with mastering done by Emil Dela Rosa.
“With Ore, I wanted this record to have an edge — a rough texture in its feel — while still sharing the soft and delicate feeling of rOe, shares ena mori in a press statement, revealing that as she “worked on new songs, [she] started to feel it would be a better representation if [she] separated them into two.”
The six-track release explores themes of “independence, uncertainty, and the process of defining oneself outside inherent expectations.” Additionally, ena mori’s cultural identity also plays a central role in the EP. “As I listen back to the record, I realize that it captures a very Asian experience,” she shares. “Growing up in an Asian household, surrounded by its values, taboos, societal pressures, and hidden passions, has shaped the way I perceive the world. Navigating my twenties between two cultures—sometimes similar, sometimes polar opposites, braided together.”
Ore is ena mori’s first release of 2026 and features two previously released singles: “La Loba,” which came out on November 7, 2025, and “Funny,” which was released on March 21, 2025.
Additionally, rOe and Ore are set to be packaged into a 1LP vinyl release by Offshore Music Philippines, with each EP’s songs occupying one side of the vinyl. Pre-orders are now open via Diggers Factory, with each unit priced at PHP 1,805. The vinyl is expected to come out this May 2026.
In other news, ena mori is set to perform at the 2026 edition of SYNCHRONICITY – a music festival with stages split across Shibuya in Tokyo, Japan.
