Guess who’s back? Shady’s back! The real Slim Shady, also known as Eminem, is back with his twelfth studio album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce).
The long-awaited project from the celebrated rap icon features 19 tracks, including the previously released singles “Houdini” and “Tobey,” which features Big Sean and BabyTron, alongside a sequel to the iconic 1999 track “Guilty Conscience” featuring Dr. Dre.
Just yesterday, Eminem took to his official X account (formerly Twitter) to share that The Death of Slim Shady is a “conceptual album,” encouraging fans to experience the tracks in the intended order for the full impact. “Public service announcement: the ‘death of slim shady’ is a conceptual album, therefore, if you listen to songs out of order they might not make sense,” he tweeted, urging listeners to enjoy the intended experience.
This release marks Eminem’s first project since 2020’s Music to Be Murdered By. As he aims for his tenth consecutive solo album to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, the lead singles have already made a splash on the charts. “Houdini” debuted at No. 2, marking Eminem’s highest-charting hit of the decade, while “Tobey” entered the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 95.
