The nominees for the 2025 Filipino Music Awards‘ ‘Rock Song of the Year’ category have officially been revealed.
Consisting of five outstanding songs within Filipino rock and heavy music that were released within the past year or so, the ‘Rock Song of the Year’ category’s initial set of nominees sees tracks from scene icons like Ely Buendia and Chicosci to hitmakers IV Of Spades and heavy music supergroup Juggernaut.

‘Rock Song of the Year’ officially marks the latest category of the 2025 Filipino Music Awards whose nominees have been publicly announced, following ‘R&B Song of the Year,’ ‘Folk Song of the Year,’ ‘Alternative Song of the Year,’ and the fan vote-based ‘People’s Choice Awards‘ category. Significantly, ‘People’s Choice Awards’ is further divided into three sub-categories: People’s Choice Award: Artist, People’s Choice Award: International Artist, and People’s Choice Award: Song.
The inaugural Filipino Music Awards is happening this October 21, 2025 (Tuesday) at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, presented by Modern Media Group Inc. — the media company behind global titles Billboard Philippines, Rolling Stone Philippines, Nylon Manila, and Robb Report Philippines — and produced by AGC Power Holdings Corp.. The event will see the presentation of 20 awards across multiple categories, as well as special performances from Filipino artists like SB19, IV Of Spades, Ben&Ben, Cup Of Joe, apl.de.ap, BINI, Maki, and more.
