Here are the nominees for ‘Folk Song of the Year’ at the 2025 Filipino Music Awards.
The first-ever set of nominees for the category are five stand-out songs within the realm of Filipino folk and folk-adjacent music, released within the past year or so. This includes fresh tracks from icons like Noel Cabangon and Ben&Ben, a collaboration between dwta and justin, as well as hits from newcomers Amiel Sol and MATÉO.

‘Folk Song of the Year’ officially marks the latest category of the 2025 Filipino Music Awards whose nominees have been publicly announced, following ‘Alternative Song of the Year’ and the fan vote-driven ‘People’s Choice Awards‘ category. Notably, ‘People’s Choice Awards’ is further divided into three sub-categories: People’s Choice Award: Artist, People’s Choice Award: International Artist, and People’s Choice Award: Song.
The first ever Filipino Music Awards is officially set to happen on October 21, 2025 (Tuesday) at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, presented by Modern Media Group Inc. — the media company behind global titles Billboard Philippines, Rolling Stone Philippines, Nylon Manila, and Robb Report Philippines — and produced by AGC Power Holdings Corp.. The event’s first ever iteration will see the presentation of 20 awards across multiple categories, as well as special performances from Filipino artists like SB19, IV Of Spades, Ben&Ben, Cup Of Joe, apl.de.ap, BINI, Maki, and more.
