Today (October 16), the solo member of hit-making rap trio O SIDE MAFIA, Costa Cashman, is set to release a new single entitled “Gangsta.” According to an official press release, the upcoming track, “… features Fern and was produced by dot.jaime, and celebrates transformation, discipline, and success earned through grind and growth.”
Furthermore, in this press release, Cashman shares, “Para sakin kasi, hindi na ‘gangsta’ yung pagiging agresibo o pagiging mapusok. Para sa akin, ang ‘gangsta’ na is yung nakakapag-provide ka, nagagawa mo yung gusto mo, nag-eenjoy ka at nagagawa mo yun ng sarili mo lang. Nagawa mo siya ng pinaghirapan mo. Ayun na yung ‘gangsta’ para sakin.” (In my perspective, being aggressive or violent isn’t being ‘gangsta’. To me, what being a ‘gangsta’ means is providing for others, doing what you want, and enjoying and being yourself. You get to enjoy the fruit of your labor. That’s the true ‘gangsta’ for me.)
Tonight at 7 PM as well, Costa Cashman is set to release a new music video or ‘movie’ for the new song. Watch the premiere here.
In tandem with the fresh track, the emcee will be debuting a limited-edition capsule collection in collaboration with UNDRAFTED (UND)—a partnership aligning with the UND Anniversary celebration. “This collaboration represents not just a fashion statement but a manifestation of Cashman’s evolution, from the streets of Malate to the forefront of Philippine hip-hop culture,” Justin Wieneke, CEO of Cheke, explains.
Costa Cashman has been steadily releasing new music throughout 2025, his latest single being an early 2000s, Neptunes-inspired party track “HU$$.”
