Asia’s Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista and Indonesian singer-songwriter Raisa have released the music video for their duet of “Rainbow,” a revival of the 2003 hit by Filipino pop/R&B band South Border.
Filmed in a café in Jakarta, Indonesia, the music video was directed by Jonathan Tal Placido of Toothless Productions. Transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary, it captures the two artists immersed in quiet, simple moments that reflect happiness and connection.
“The video is about how the simplest, most ordinary moments in our day can actually become the ‘rainbows’ we need — small sparks of hope that make a big difference,” shares Bautista in a press release.

This collaboration also celebrates the fusion of Filipino and Indonesian cultures, with the decision to film in Jakarta adding to the overall warmth of the track. “The city added warmth, texture, and authenticity to the visuals and helped us reflect the connection the song celebrates,” he adds.
Originally released in 2003, the original version by South Border served as the theme song for Crying Ladies, an entry to the 2003 Metro Manila Film Festival, where it won several major awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor for Eric Quizon, Best Supporting Actress for Hilda Koronel, and Best Child Performer for Julio Pacheco.
