Fresh off teasing the completion of his upcoming record, Bruno Mars has officially announced its forthcoming release –– with the album titled The Romantic.

The pop superstar shared the news on his official social media accounts, revealing the album’s release date of February 27, 2026, alongside its official cover artwork. Additionally, Mars’ caption also teased the release of its first lead single this Friday (January 9, 2026), stating, “New music this Friday.”

Together with the initial reveal, Mars also opened pre-orders for the album on his official website, with a limited edition one-time first pressing vinyl available on his store here. The release is priced at $30 USD/PHP 1,800, and is pressed on a standard black disc, and comes with a numbered single jacket sleeve to house the record. Just earlier this week, Mars posted a viral announcement that simply stated, “My album is done.” The Romantic is set to mark his fourth studio album as a soloist, coming nearly ten years after the release of the critically and commercially acclaimed hit record, 24K Magic. The latter was awarded seven Grammy Awards at the 2018 Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year and Best R&B Album, while the title track won Record of the Year and its other hit single “That’s What I Like” won Song of The Year.

Though Mars has not released much music as a soloist since then, he went on to partner up with Anderson Paak to form their own musical superduo, Silk Sonic, and released the renowned, award-winning album, An Evening With Silk Sonic –– which spawned the viral hit single, “Leave the Door Open” that went on to win four Grammy Awards, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best R&B Performance, and Best R&B Song.

Most recently, he teamed up with fellow pop hitmakers like Lady Gaga (“Die With A Smile”) and BLACKPINK‘s ROSÉ (“APT”), with both collaboration singles dominating several musical charts worldwide. Both tracks went on to hit the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Philippines Hot 100 chart, and have earned numerous Grammy nominations –– with “Die With A Smile” winning Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 2025 Grammys.
