Over the past two years, BINI have continued their quest for global domination –– reaching new heights as of late, especially with their historic Coachella 2026 performance and being honored as Billboard Philippines‘ selection for the Global Force Award at Billboard Women In Music 2026 ceremony.
The Nation’s Girl Group graced the star-studded red carpet alongside fellow honorees like Laufey, Zara Larsson, Ella Langley, Tate McRae, and HUNTR/X, as well as other artists like Slayyyter, Prelude, Kim Petras, Ella Mai, Kali Uchis, and more outside the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, California, today (April 30, Philippine Time).
Talking to red carpet hosts Drew Afualo and Lyndsey Havens, BINI opened up what it means to be Global Force honorees, with Jhoanna stating, “It really means a lot for us, especially as a Filipino group. And it feels like this award is a reminder for us that these eight women can stand on any stage, and we hope that we helped open more doors for Filipino artists.”
Aiah also talked about making history as the first Filipino group to perform at Coachella, sharing, “There’s been a nice reception [to it]. And we’re so grateful that a lot of people enjoyed and appreciated our performance. [With] us being here in the States, we’ve been very chill, but we don’t know how it’s going to be when we go home. So we’re so excited to meet our family and friends, and everyone, our kababayans back there –– we’re excited to see you guys back home.”
Upon being asked about their Coachella experience, Sheena shared how much she loved K-pop icons BIGBANG’s set. “I loved BIGBANG’s set. They were so amazing, they were so good. I love BIGBANG,” she shared, while other members also gave shoutouts to Justin Bieber, Karol G, HUNTR/X, and Laufey –– before Maloi expressed how excited the group was to meet Laufey for the first time.
Aside from BINI, this year’s Global Force Award was also presented to Canadian rock band The Beaches, who were recognized as honorees at Billboard Canada’s Women in Music.
Alongside receiving the Global Force Award at this year’s Billboard Women in Music, the P-pop girl group was likewise honored with the Powerhouse Award at Billboard Philippines Women in Music earlier this March, in which they were also one of the nominees for the fan-voted People’s Choice Awards category. In 2025, BINI had already earned the Women of the Year title at the second edition of Billboard Philippines Women in Music, an event that highlighted influential women in the industry through its Executive Edition.
