In other news, BINI were named as the first-ever recipients of the Billboard Philippines Women in Music Rising Star award. During the event last March 22, they performed their trending hit “Salamin Salamin” (Mirror Mirror). Watch the full performance here.

SB19 member Stell presented the award to the girl group, where he said, “Mula sa aming lima sa inyong walo, congratulations. Ang lagi namin sinasabi na masaya kami na dumating kayo sa P-pop industry. Sama sama nating itaguyod ang Filipino music here and on the global stage.”

(From us five to you eight, congratulations. We have always said that we are so happy that you came to the P-Pop industry. Together, we will give a platform for Filipino music here and on the global stage.)

When talking about what they’re most excited about, Aiah shared that the group was most excited to perform “Salamin, Salamin.” “We’re excited to meet everyone also.” Maloi continued, “We really worked hard for this. Lahat ng pagod namin, lahat ng sacrifices namin, ito na ‘yun.

As the first-ever Rising Star honorees, Jhoanna opened up about what the award meant to the eight-piece group. “Syempresobrang laking responsibility ito. Lalo na noong nakita namin yung list ng awardees, sobrang icon silaKami, we’re still starting. Sobrang laking opportunity nito for us. Kahit nandito na kami sa location, sobrang hindi namin makapaniwala.”

(Of course, this is such a big responsibility, especially when we saw the list of awardees. They’re all such icons, and us, we’re still starting. This is such a big opportunity for us. Even if we’re here at the location, we still can’t believe it.)
