Gelo Rivera of P-pop boy group BGYO joins forces with Vietnamese star Vũ Thảo My for an upcoming cross-cultural single, “Zealous (Gã Săn Mồi),” marking a bold fusion of P-pop and V-pop.
The single was initially teased through social media by the V-pop artist on April 17. The collaboration built further buzz with a teaser video released on April 20, showing shadowy, high-contrast quick cuts and close-up shots of the charismatic duo.
The Vietnamese version of the track arrives on April 21, followed by an English version releasing on April 24 across all major streaming platforms. It marks Gelo’s first international collaboration. The news also follows a growing wave of Southeast Asian pop crossovers, including SB19’s recent collaboration with Mandopop icon JOLIN — a sign of the region’s increasingly interconnected pop landscape.
“Zealous (Gã Săn Mồi)” features the distinct styles of both artist from their respective genres. It blends Gelo’s sharp charisma and stage presence with Vũ Thảo My’s commanding, soulful vocals, resulting in a dynamic release that reflects both Filipino and Vietnamese pop sensibilities.
Known for his electrifying performances with group BGYO, Gelo continues to expand his reach beyond the Philippines, while also building his profile locally through acting projects and on-screen appearances. He previously made his acting debut in ABS-CBN Studios’ The Four Bad Boys and Me and is set to appear in the upcoming vertical drama, The Chambermaid’s Daughter. Vũ Thảo My also proves her status as a regional powerhouse following her win at The Voice Vietnam, solidifying her presence in the Southeast Asian music scene.
The track “Zealous (Gã Săn Mồi)” is available for pre-save ahead of its release through MMusic Records.
