Barbie Almalbis is heading to Tokyo later this year for a series of special acoustic shows. The news was announced by Japan-based Filipino organizing entity Pintig Productions on March 13, 2025 (Thursday), who revealed that the mini tour will happen on May 30, 31, and June 1 (Friday to Sunday).

Exact venues and ticketing details for the shows have yet to be announced. Watch this space for updates.

Notably, these three shows follow Almalbis’ time in Japan’s Okinawa prefecture last January 17 to 19, where she performed as a representative of the Philippines at Music Lane Okinawa — the premier music showcase and conference in Okinawa — alongside Vincent Eco.

Alongside these string of shows, Pintig Productions is also responsible for the Japan leg of The Itchyworms’ ‘Akin Ka Na Lang’ world tour last January, as well as Mayonnaise’s upcoming one-night-only Tokyo show this May.

In other news, Barbie Almalbis released her latest studio album Not That Girl last January 10, 2025. In an interview with Billboard Philippines, Almalbis expressed her biggest desire that the album — notable for its genre-bending nature and vulnerable lyricism — can give hope to its listeners. “In terms of the theme, I hope that people will somehow find hope or feel less alone [with this album], or, at least, find hope that they can be less alone.”
