Ariana Grande is far from done with the rollout of her recently released album, eternal sunshine.

The 30-year-old pop star has dropped a surprise remix to the record’s third single, “the boy is mine,” featuring Brandy and Monica, paying homage to the original singers of the chart-topping track. Grande expressed her gratitude to both singers for appearing on the remix in a lengthy social media post.

The post’s caption reads, “[I] cannot believe this is real (I don’t know if i will even long after it’s out) … my deepest and sincerest thank you to Brandy and Monica, not only for joining me for this moment, but for your generosity, your kindness, and for the countless ways in which you have inspired me. it is near impossible to say how much this means to me.”[T]his is in celebration of you both and the impact that you have had on every vocalist, vocal producer, musician, artist that is creating today. I loooooove you both so so much. thank you !!!!!!!”

Brandy and Monica’s original version of “The Boy Is Mine” was released all the way back in 1998, and went on to spend 13 straight weeks at No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and was noted to be the best-selling song that year with over 2.6 million copies sold. The track was also honored with the award for Best R&B Vocal Performance for a Duo or Group, and was nominated for both Record of the Year and Best R&B Song in the 41st Annual Grammy Awards held in 1999.

Just recently, Grande released a cinematic music video for her rendition of the song, which not only featured cameos from both Brandy and Monica as news reporters, but also starred Gossip Girl and Netflix’s You lead actor Penn Badgley as her leading man, opposite Grande’s effective performance as a sultry, Catwoman-inspired burglar.
