Filipino P-Pop group Alamat has just released their latest music video to their new song “Ang Galing DITO” –– which ties together with telecommunications company DITO’s ongoing campaign of the same name.
The music video features the six-piece group highlighting various national treasures of the country, including landmarks, clothing, artistry, and craftsmanship that embody the Filipino spirit. Together with the charisma and natural swagger of each of the group’s members, both the video and song fully embody the nationalistic spirit that the campaign aims to convey to the Filipino audience. From what was presented, Alamat’s distinctiveness lies not only in their musical prowess but also in their multilingual and multiethnic composition, mirroring the rich tapestry of the Philippines.
Hailing from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, Alamat seamlessly integrates diverse cultural influences into their artistry, a testament to the unity found in their music. The group’s proficiency in languages such as Tagalog, Ilocano, Kapampangan, Cebuano, Hiligaynon, Bikolano, and Waray-Waray encapsulates the spirit of inclusivity, as exemplified by what was shown in the music video. The group’s passion resonates through their unwavering support for Filipino excellence, extending beyond boundaries and embracing the collective talent that flourishes across the regions – while also mirroring the essence of the Galing DITO campaign.
Just last November 2023, the P-pop group released their second full-length album IsaPuso, which features their hit singles “Day and Night” and “Walang Hanggan.” Also earlier this January 2024, they released a special collaboration with Bicolana folk-pop artist dwta titled “Kapit“, and was released as part of Coke Studio’s seventh season. As Alamat begins to take center stage in the national spotlight, their performance in the official music video becomes a vibrant testament to the power of unity and the cultural mosaic that defines Filipino identity.
