Acel Bisa, renowned as the former lead vocalist of Moonstar88, has announced her upcoming migration to the Netherlands in early 2025.

Yet right before she leaves, Acel is set to celebrate this “bittersweet” transition in her life with a farewell concert on October 11, 2024, coinciding with the launch of her highly anticipated album, titled Being and Becoming. The concert of the same name is scheduled to take place at the Teatrino Promenade in Greenhills, San Juan, beginning at 7 PM.

In a candid Instagram post, Acel emphasized that this event isn’t merely a goodbye. “I see this as a fitting homage to my family, friends, and colleagues who have shaped my journey,” she shared. The singer-songwriter reflected on the emotional weight of leaving, stating, “The baggage that comes with leaving reminds us of the people and memories that truly matter. As I embrace new beginnings, a part of my heart will always yearn for home. This country has defined who I am, both personally and artistically.”

The concert, co-produced by GNN Entertainment Productions, promises to showcase not only new material from Being and Becoming but also delve into Acel’s past struggles that have informed her artistry. “This album is a culmination of my reflections and a journey of self-discovery,” she explained.

Acel’s performance will also spotlight the impactful work of Right Start, a non-profit organization she co-founded 14 years ago, aimed at empowering children in underprivileged communities. “As my family and I prepare for this move, I want to celebrate the gift of music while encouraging those who attend,” she added.

Between 1999 and 2004, Acel served as the lead vocalist for the renowned band Moonstar88. During her tenure, the group released two studio albums, Popcorn in 2001 and Press to Play in 2002, featuring hit tracks such as “Torete,” “Sulat,” “Sa Langit,” and “Fall On Me,” all of which received critical acclaim. Also before her time with Moonstar88, Acel was part of the band Orphan Lily from 1995 until 1998.
