Johnoy Danao is inviting listeners to hark back to his landmark concert with his newest live album, released on September 12, 2026.
Liwayway At Dapithapon (Live at the Metropolitan Theater Manila) features the recording of the artist’s 25th anniversary concert of the same name, held at the art-deco-themed venue on March 14 and 15, 2025. The event was also Danao’s first major solo concert.
“[M]insan lang kami gumawa ng concert. dapat nasa spotifySpotifyA digital music, podcast, and audiobook streaming platform that lets users listen to millions of tracks and shows on demand across multiple devices.Go to Spotify Glossary na rin (It’s rare to hold a concert. It should be on Spotify, too),” the folk singer-songwriter wrote on social media.
The recording, like the concert, features the orchestral reimaginings of Danao’s hits like “Ikaw at Ako” and “Ang Panata.” Also featured is Danao’s “Right Time,” the singer’s collaboration with indie singer Clara Benin, who also joined Danao at the Metropolitan Theater on his March 14 performance.
Although not featured on the album, multi-instrumentalist Gabba also accompanied Danao in the anniversary concert, as well as Barbie’s Cradle guitarist Kakoy Legaspi, with whom Danao frequently collaborated as Johnoy and Kakoy. In 2007, the duo performed in a series of shows.
The live album release follows Danao’s collaboration with folk-pop singer Jan Roberts for the single “Kung Masusunod,” released on April 24, 2026.
