P-pop Shines Bright At Billboard Philippines' P-pop Rising Class Party

P-pop — as more than just a genre, but a cultural phenomenon — has been growing exponentially, and is set to reach even greater heights.

Last night (June 5, 2025), that was materialized in the first-ever Billboard Philippines’ P-pop Rising Class Party. Held at the Stratosphere Events Hall, Makati, the event marked the country’s biggest celebration of P-pop as a whole, bringing to life the camaraderie that makes up the local scene. Dedicated to commemorate the Billboard Philippines’ Rising Class of 2025, the evening was a testament to the tight-knit and supportive community that elevates the genre as a whole.

Gathering nearly twenty of the country’s strongest idol groups from HORI7ON to G22, the night was made special with unforgettable moments, heartfelt speeches, spontaneous dance-offs, and more.

Kicking off the night, the Kings of P-pop themselves, SB19, shared a heartfelt speech, as Ken applauded the Billboard Philippines’ P-pop Rising Class of 2025; “Here is the next wave that is up to the challenge of bringing OPM farther than it has ever gone.” Adding onto this was Josh saying, “Like us, they’ve dreamt big — touching the hearts of millions through songs and performances,” then Justin; “We (SB19) embrace them as part of the same wave of artists shaping the future of P-pop and enriching the legacy of OPM together.” Stell supports this, saying, “We are part of the community that proudly supports them, anticipating their impact on Philippine music. The path ahead is lit with purpose, and they’re ready to walk it boldly.”

On a final note, Pablo shared; “We’re like a bonfire — we burn brighter together.” These words set the tone for the night as each group came together in kindred spirit of celebration.

And brighter it burned.

From dancing with one another to shared laughs and selfies between artists, the night was a celebration of what makes P-pop extraordinary — its spirit of togetherness. There was a particularly electric energy in the venue as each and every act just simply let go to have fun with one another, and DJ sets by DJ Cupcakes and Alexandra Mascenon fueled this energy to further heights. Groups cheered each other on as they spontaneously took the stage to dance when their respective songs were played by the DJs; special moments were shared between artists as they got to bond, and the P-pop community, as a whole, shined brighter than ever that night. It served as a reminder that, at its heart, P-pop is a celebration of connection, shared passion for music, and simply having fun.

As the community continues to rise, so does the promise of P-pop — and if last night was any indication, this is only the beginning of a bright future.
