This weekend, Janine Teñoso, otherwise known as Janine, is officially holding her first solo concert.
Happening on September 6, 2025 at the New Frontier Theater, the Filipino singer-songwriter promises to unveil a grand show that is uniquely her own, telling the unique story of her musical journey through the emotive songs that have redefined her career and touched the lives of millions of Filipinos across the country these past eight years or so.
With the concert being completely sold out, it’s time to get ready to sing along to Janine’s song with the thousand others in attendance. And so, Billboard Philippines has curated eight songs by Janine to help you get ready for what is, undeniably, the chart-breaking hitmaker’s the most personal show yet.
“Di Na Muli”
With Janine’s first solo concert promising to tell the story of her career so far, it’s only right to begin this list with one of the biggest releases from early on in her journey.
A cover of The Itchyworms‘ 2016 hit of the same name, “Di Na Muli” served as Janine’s second single of 2018, released on August 6, 2018. With her unmistakable vocals, Janine beautifully transformed the poignant track into her own, making it become even more emotive than it already is.
“Pelikula” with Arthur Nery
One of the things that those attending Janine’s first solo concert can look forward to are her new renditions of her collaborations songs through the years, specifically reimagined for the show.
One of these songs is “Pelikula” — a team-up single with fellow Viva Records star Arthur Nery, who will appear as one of the show’s special guests. Serving as the third track of Janine’s 2021 EP Kwento Sa Silid, the mellow, heartfelt duet explores themes of longing and mutual feelings between two individuals who both wish to bridge the gap between them and be one, just like in the movies.
“Hulaan”
Romance dangling in ambiguity is sure to bring all sorts of frustrations and questions. This is something that Janine perfectly captures in her song “Hulaan.” Released on January 26, 2024 as a single, the song serves as the second track on Janine’s EP Apat Na Buwan, detailing the perspective of someone dealing with uncertainty and confusion brought about by a lover who can’t seem to fully commit.
“Apat Na Buwan”
Speaking of Apat Na Buwan, the EP’s title track is another song of Janine’s that needs to be highlighted. Serving as sort of a sequel to “Hulaan,” “Apat Na Buwan” details the aftermath of the aforementioned uncertain romance in “Hulaan,” with the singer looking back on their four-month relationship while striving to move on.
“Ulan”
Speaking of looking back, the next song on this list is another cover from Janine, this time of Filipino rock icons Rivermaya’s debut single “Ulan.” A song about reminiscing about past memories, “Ulan” was reimagined by Janine into a deeply emotive ballad, serving as the perfect theme song for the 2019 romantic fantasy film of the same name, starring Nadine Lustre and Carlo Aquino.
“Distansya” with Rob Deniel
Another collaboration song that attendees of Janine’s concert this Saturday can look forward to is “Distansya.” Joining forces with “Miss Miss” hitmaker Rob Deniel, “Distansya” was released on June 7, 2024, detailing two individuals in love closing the distance between them, both literally and figuratively.
“Pikit Mata”
Hidden feelings and fears of rejection often go hand-in-hand and Janine’s “Pikit Mata” perfectly encapsulates this scenario. Released on May 16, 2025, “Pikit Mata” serves as Janine’s latest single, detailing the inner thoughts and emotions of a person deeply hoping that what they feel for a certain special someone is also reciprocated, while also grappling with the apprehension of letting their attraction be known.
“Tingin” with Cup Of Joe
Last but not least, we have “Tingin” — the collaboration between Janine and Filipino alternative pop hitmakers Cup Of Joe, whose vocalists Rapha Ridao and Gian Bernardino will also serve as special guests for the upcoming show.
Released on April 28, 2023, “Tingin” remains one of the two Viva acts’ biggest hits, continuing to chart significantly on the Billboard Philippines charts to this day. A song of love and loyalty, it serves as an anthem of steadfast devotion to a special person or a beloved dream, even in the face of whatever chaos and noise the world may bring.
