Over the past week, it has been hinted in a series of teasers from posters hung up around New York City and a short video clip posted on a verified fan account that Chappell Roan is gearing up to soon release her long-awaited single, “The Subway.” The release date and details have yet to be disclosed; watch this space for updates.

Roan previously performed “The Subway” as an unreleased single during her performance at the Governor’s Ball in New York City on June 9, 2024. Co-written by Dan Nigro, the downbeat country ballad captures the emotional turmoil of a messy breakup in a small city where unexpected encounters with your ex are inevitable.

This follows the release of Chappell Roan’s latest single “The Giver” on March 13 of this year.

In related news, it was recently revealed that, as of July 5, 2025, Chappell Roan held one of the Philippines’ longest-charting songs with “Good Luck, Babe!” As the artist’s sole 2024 single, the track made its peak position on the Billboard Philippines’ Hot 100 at the No. 8 spot.
