Billboard Philippines’ Off The Charts Unveils Monthly Top 10 Genre Countdowns
Billboard Philippines’ charts podcast, Off The Charts, now takes on genre-specific countdowns, starting with the top 10 P-pop and rock tracks dominating the country.
The Billboard Philippines Hot 100 has always been a snapshot of what the country is listening to — a reflection of trends and virality. But often times, there’s more stories to the numbers. That’s the idea behind the newest segment of Billboard Philippines‘ Off The Charts, which is introducing a new monthly countdown that digs deeper into the genres shaping the local music scene.
This June, Off The Charts is further amplifying the country’s top songs with a brand-new monthly segment that dives deeper into the soundscape of the Philippines’ vibrant music scene. For the first time, the podcast will be spotlighting genre-specific top 10 countdowns, offering a closer, curated look at what’s making waves within the industry. Every month, the podcast — hosted by Billboard Philippines‘ Managing Editor Jason Caballa and ProducerProducerThe person who guides the creative and technical process of making a recording, shaping its sound, arrangement, and overall quality. Producers can write, compose, engineer, and direct performances, and aGo to Producer Glossary Anton Molina — will zone in on the top 10 songs of a specific genre on the Billboard Philippines Hot 100, revealing the biggest tracks making noise all across the country.
To kick things off, the podcast is starting with two genres that have defined and redefined the Filipino sound in recent years: P-popP-PopShort for Pilipino pop, a movement of Filipino idol groups and solo acts who combine pop music, choreography, and polished production for local and international audiences.
