Warner Music Australasia and Southeast Asia have unveiled a new senior leadership structure designed to deepen artist development, sharpen regional expertise, and accelerate global export opportunities for its roster. The newly implemented changes emphasize greater specialization across A&R, marketing, international strategy, and fan engagement across the board.
At the center of the restructure, Alex Young has been promoted to Vice President, Domestic Artists, Warner Music Australasia. In this role, she will oversee A&R, creative direction, and marketing for local artists. Dan Ellis has been named Vice President, International Artist Strategy, Warner Music Australasia and Southeast Asia, where he will lead the company’s global approach for international artists across the region. It was noted that both executives will report to Dan Rosen, President of Warner Music Australasia and Southeast Asia.
Young’s team includes Charlotte Kindred, elevated to Head of Domestic Artist Strategy, responsible for day-to-day domestic and export planning, and Sarah Thomas, appointed Artist Relations & Promotions Manager, Australasia Export. Based in New York, Thomas will focus on strengthening international relationships and creating global opportunities for regional artists.
On Ellis’s end, he will be supported by a strengthened international strategy group, including Lucy Baker, promoted to Head of PR, Artist Relations & Wellbeing for Australia and New Zealand; Jordon Dionatos, named International Artist Strategy Lead for Australasia; and Lisan Yee, appointed International Artist Strategy Lead for Southeast Asia, based in Singapore.
In addition to these newly minted positions and changes in leadership, the company has also enhanced its digital and fan-engagement capabilities — enlisting Manny Kupelian as the appointed Head of Creator Strategy, reporting jointly to Ellis and Young, and overseeing creator and influencer initiatives. Meanwhile, Mat Buck has been promoted to General Manager, Streaming, Social & Community, with Luke Vespa stepping up as Streaming & Partnerships Lead.
Talking about the promotions and structure of the label’s place in the region, Rosen mentioned, “These strategic appointments reflect our unwavering commitment to our mission, to take our local artists global and make our global artists local. With an expanded regional footprint, we are now better positioned than ever to deliver on this mission.”
“This new structure combines agility with deep specialization, ensuring we have precisely the right expertise to seize on the dynamic opportunities across our region. I’m immensely proud to promote this exceptional group of leaders who will drive our continued growth while keeping our extraordinary artists at the heart of everything we do,” he continued.
Earlier this November, Rosen expanded his remit to lead Warner Music Group’s recorded music operations across Southeast Asia, while continuing oversight of recorded music and publishing in Australia and New Zealand. He reports to Lo Ting-Fai, President of Warner Music APAC, and works closely with local teams across eight territories.
