Last week, it was announced that local hitmaker and pop culture icon James Reid has signed with Spring Company, a Korean global talent management and content production agency founded by Ji Chang Wook. Marking the first Filipino talent to join Spring Company, Reid joins the agency’s esteemed roster, which currently holds Descendants of the Sun actor Kim Min-seok, Run On actor Park Sung Jun, and more.
In an official press release, Reid shares his sentiment behind signing with the label, “Spring Company felt like the right next step because they believe in bridging cultures, and that’s what I want to do too. Working with Ji Chang Wook is inspiring—I’m looking forward to learning and showing the world what Filipino talent can do.” It was also added that James Reid’s signing not only represents a new era of global collaboration but also places him under the management and mentorship of Ji Chang Wook himself.
This follows James Reid’s latest musical release, a collaborative piece with the renowned balladeer TJ Monterde entitled “Pahinga.” In an exclusive statement previously shared with Billboard Philippines, the hitmaker opened up about working with Monterde: “TJ was top of mind when thinking of who to collaborate with and I’ve been hoping to work with him since last year. When we got in the studio I feel like our energy and artistry just aligned and TJ definitely delivered some awesome vocals.”
