BLACKPINK’s Jisoo has just officially inked a global record deal with Warner Records –– marking a major milestone ahead of the release of her debut solo mini-album, Amortage, due out on February 14.
The announcement was confirmed by both Jisoo and the international powerhouse label a few days back, with the former sharing in an official statement: “I’m excited about this new chapter in my musical journey. I feel like I’m just getting started, and I’m so thankful to the BLINKs for their unwavering love and support. This is only the beginning, and I’m beyond thrilled to kick off this seismic moment with Warner Records.”
Aaron Bay-Schuck, CEO and Co-Chairman of Warner Records, expressed his high praise for Jisoo, saying, “There’s no question Jisoo is one of the biggest stars in the world, and we are confident her solo career will have an even greater impact. The energy, passion, and artistry she brings to her music are unmatched. Tom Corson and I, along with the entire team, are thrilled to partner with her as she continues to make history and inspire millions around the globe.”
Since their formation in 2016 under YG Entertainment, Jisoo, and her fellow BLACKPINK members have become a global phenomenon, breaking records and solidifying their spot as one of K-pop’s most influential acts.
Jisoo now becomes the fourth and final BLACKPINK member to sign a solo deal outside of their groundbreaking work as part of one of the best-selling girl groups of all time, following the news from 2023, wherein the group made headlines when they parted ways with YG Entertainment, opting not to renew their contracts with the agency for their solo careers.
Each member has since carved out solo careers, with Rosé having released her first album rosie last December, while Lisa and Jennie are scheduled to release their debut LPs, ALTER EGO and RUBY, later this February and March 2025.
Jisoo has since released her previous singles “Flower” and “All Eyes on Me”, which have already amassed over 600 million streams on Spotify alone. She also announced the launch of her own entertainment and media agency titled BLISSOO last year, and with this new record deal, fans are eager to see what the multi-talented artist will bring to the table as she steps into her next chapter.
