Billboard‘s Women In Music has always been a celebration, not a competition.

The same holds true when Billboard Philippines made the historic move of bringing the prestigious awards show to our shores for the first time in 2024, with the aim of shining a spotlight on the women and their achievements that have impacted and redefined our music time and time again. As we commemorated this one-of-a-kind event for the second year in a row, we honored the women driving the industry forward from behind the scenes as we continue our mission of uniting the Filipino music scene from all aspects.

Held last March 28, 2025 at the Manila Peninsula in Makati City, Billboard Philippines Women In Music: The Executive Edition highlighted six of the most notable executives in the local music industry who, for years and years now, have made their unique mark and have been at the forefront of changing the game for Filipino music. It is through these well-deserving individuals that countless artists have been empowered and protected, their music reaching audiences throughout and beyond our archipelago, and their connections with listeners strengthened through releases and live events unlike any other.

In a creative industry that has always been regarded as competitive, this year’s Women In Music proved that that is not always the case. Sometimes, this very industry can remind us of the simple yet most beautiful thing music can do: bring people together. For those present on the evening of this year’s Billboard Philippines Women In Music, one can undeniably attest that this was exactly what it did for everyone in attendance.

In fact, the connections we saw during the event were nothing short of heartfelt, lighthearted, and fun. For the executives being honored — Rhiza Pascua, Atty. Marivic Benedicto, Audry Dionisio, Kathleen Dy-Go, Georgette Tengco, and Roslyn Pineda — seeing them together felt like a heartwarming family reunion, as they all chatted with one another over dinner, shared laughs, introduced their partners and loved ones to one another, and took countless photos together.

It was something else witnessing in a different light these industry giants whose impressive reputations precede them — in a somewhat touching way that revealed to us who were the actual people that worked tirelessly and diligently to keep the gears of our beloved music industry running.

Beyond their interactions with one another, it was also endearing to see the kind of connections these executives have made cultivated with so many different artists over the years, especially those present that night. Whether it’s with the artists they represent like Roslyn Pineda with SB19’s Josh Cullen or artists they’ve helped mount significant events for like Rhiza Pascua with Rico Blanco, this year’s Women In Music made it very clear that these women did more than just run things behind the scenes, they have also meaningfully touched and changed the lives of our favorite artists on a much deeper level than most of us know about.

Speaking of these artists, the evening was also chock full of one-of-a-kind moments between them — ones that we rarely ever get to see up close involving our favorite artists. From rock legends like Ely Buendia and Rico Blanco catching up over conversation (and striking a pose for the camera while at it) and Darren Espanto and SB19’s Josh Cullen chatting over dinner, to Sarah Geronimo individually congratulating and embracing the members of BINI as she bestowed upon them this year’s Woman Of The Year award, there was an endless amount of interactions that proves once again that the Filipino music scene knows no boundaries. Its multi-faceted nature does not mean a separation by genre or niche. Rather, it’s evidence of our music’s diversity, all united under the one colorful identity of OPM.

While this year’s Billboard Philippines Women In Music may already be over, it will continue to serve as a reminder of not just how special Filipino music has always been and continues to be, but more specifically, how countless women, both onstage and off, have always been a major driving force behind why this is so. And much like last year, Billboard Philippines upholds its promise of continuing to ensure that these women are recognized, championed, and forever remembered for as long as Filipino music continues to exist.
