With January in full swing, it’s officially time to celebrate Sinulog once again.

Regularly drawing more than a million attendees each year, Sinulog is an annual Catholic festival in Cebu, held in celebration of the Sto. Niño or the religious image of the Child Jesus. It holds the reputation of being one of the biggest religious festivals in the Philippines, attracting both fervent devotees as well as those who wish to celebrate and immerse in this rich cultural aspect of Philippine history.

Through the years, the festivities that come with the commemoration of Sinulog have continued evolve, including a number of music-related events that many can participate and enjoy alongside the more traditional ones. Check out a few of them that are happening during Sinulog 2025 below:

Sinulog Idol 2025

Known as Cebu’s biggest and longest running singing competition, Sinulog Idol is back for its 16th season this 2025, featuring 12 contestants vying for the win.

‘Sinulog Is Back’ Concert

Presented by Cebu City mayor Raymond Garcia is ‘Sinulog Is Back’ – a free concert in celebration of Sinulog, featuring TJ Monterde, KZ Tandingan, juan karlos, and more.

Cartel Studio’s ‘Flip The Script Cebu’

Looking to experience the indie music scene in Cebu? John Bottles Events is hosting back-to-back gigs with Bottle City 2025: Hunter Moves Night. Its first leg shall feature Tarsius, Party Pace, and The Diegos from Manila, alongside Cebu indie artists, Mandaue Nights, milkmus, KANA, and Thcrss.

Bottle City 2025: Hunter Moves Night – Leg 2

Following its first leg, Bottle City 2025: Hunter Moves Night is moving to Cebu Making Space the next day for its second leg, featuring more sets from Party Pace, Tarsius, and The Diegos as well Cebu’s Coloura, Sheila And The Insects, Libya Montes, Sad Day Assistance, Coney Reyes on Camera, and MISTERMIL.

Conclave: The Bottle City 2025 Music Talks

Alongside the two back-to-back gigs, Bottle City 2025 will also feature special music-related talks segments from four individuals involved in the indie music scene. Namely, these are Locked Down Entertainment’s Jigger Divina who will be talking about music management, Melt Records’ Dexter Sy on strategies concerning releasing and promoting music for indie artists, John Bottles’ Bobbi Olvido on his personal experiences immersing in the local scene, and Coast2Coast’s Kara Angan on music journalism as well as community building in VisMin scenes.

Slaynulog 2025

Slaynulog returns this 2025 even bigger and better, bringing together a number of our country’s best drag queens from both Manila and Cebu, including contestants from the third season of Drag Race Philippines.

Rock’It Festival

Initially set to be headlined by Franco, the event is now top-billed by Urbandub‘s Gabby Alipe with the Suspitsados – a supergroup consisting of Akit Po (Powerspoonz), Pauldo Cañada (Franco), Boobop Nunez (Glitch, Kingspade), Janjan Mendoza (Urbandub, Franco, Glitch), and Russell Manaloto (Faspitch, Urbandub). This follows after Franco frontman Franco “Islaw” Reyes got into an road accident last January 8, 2025, with the event now serving as a fundraiser for him.
