Fresh off his string of recent box-office hits, Timothée Chalamet is another role closer to winning an Oscar for Best Actor with A Complete Unknown.

The leading man of Dune transforms into the legendary Bob Dylan in the highly-anticipated first trailer to James Mangold’s biopic — with the teaser showcasing a glimpse of Chalamet’s portrayal, complete with his own impressive vocal performances. In the trailer, the Academy Award-nominated actor delivers a powerful rendition of Dylan’s 1960s anthem “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall,” giving fans their first glimpse at his take on embodying the iconic musician’s signature style.

Beyond Chalamet’s role as Bob Dylan, other members of the star-studded cast include Edward Norton as Pete Seeger, Elle Fanning as Sylvie Russo, Boyd Holbrook as Johnny Cash, Monica Barbaro as Joan Baez, Dan Fogler as Albert Grossman, P.J. A Complete Unknown takes place against the backdrop of the vibrant 1960s music scene in New York City and chronicles the meteoric rise of the 19-year-old Minnesota musician as he makes a star-making turn from folk singer to global sensation, culminating in his revolutionary electric performance at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival.

The film was directed, written, and produced by James Mangold, who is known for his expansive filmography comprised of musical biopics and blockbuster hits. His previous works include the Academy Award-winning biopic of Johnny Cash’s life, Walk The Line, as well as acclaimed hits like Girl Interrupted, Ford v Ferrari, Logan, and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
