There’s a new streak at WrestleMania! For the sixth year in a row, The Weeknd and WWE have teamed up for pro wrestling’s biggest event of the year as “Timeless” featuring Playboi Carti will serve as an official theme song for WrestleMania 41.
It has become a yearly tradition at this point, dating back to 2020 when “Blinding Lights” was chosen as the theme song for WrestleMania 36. Originally set to take place in Tampa, Florida, in front of a live audience, the event was instead filmed behind closed doors at the WWE Performance Center due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since then, the singer-songwriter’s songs have been featured in the succeeding editions. “Save Your Tears” for WrestleMania 37, “Sacrifice” for WrestleMania 38, “Less Than Zero” for WrestleMania 39, and “Gasoline” for WrestleMania XL.
The two-night event, held on April 19 and 20 at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, will feature a main-event matchup between reigning Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and the now-villainous John Cena for WWE’s top prize.
Another highly anticipated matchup will be the chaotic triple-threat battle between CM Punk — who finally gets to live his dream of main-eventing WrestleMania — Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns.
