The Umbrella Academy is coming to a close this August.

On May 30, the conclusion of the Emmy-nominated Netflix series The Umbrella Academy was officially set in motion with the premiere of its fourth and final season’s teaser trailer. It sees the time-travelling, super-powered show’s heroes, the Hargreeves siblings, coming together one last time after the climactic events of the show’s third season led to a reset of their timeline and the loss of their individual powers. Now, to correct everything, they must face powerful enemies one final time, including a shadowy group of doomsayers known as The Keepers.

On July 9, The Umbrella Academy premiered the final season’s official trailer, fittingly soundtracked by “The End.” from iconic rock band My Chemical Romance, whose frontman, Gerard Way, wrote the comic book series the show is based on.

The release date of the show’s final season was first officially announced by Netflix last February 15, exactly five years since its first season premiered in 2019. They announced it via their social media with a collection of posters featuring the show’s individual characters.

The Umbrella Academy began with its first season premiering in 2019, followed up by its second and third seasons in 2020 and 2022 respectively. It revolves around an estranged adopted family of super-powered individuals known as the Hargreeves siblings, coming together to figure out the mystery surrounding their adoptive father’s life and death as well as trying to prevent the arrival of doomsday.

The fourth and final season of The Umbrella Academy is set to premiere exclusively on Netflix this August 8.
