Film Concerts PH is bringing the magical, cinematic sounds of your favorite Studio Ghibli film to Manila with the orchestral concert, The Symphonic World of Studio Ghibli

The news came from a social media post shared by the live entertainment company, along with the ticketing details and seat map. Endorsed by the highly acclaimed Japanese animation studio, The Symphonic World of Studio Ghibli will allow fans to immerse themselves in the films’ world of wonder, nostalgia, and adventure from July 31 to August 2 at The Theater at Solaire.

The two-hour orchestral program will showcase the iconic music of Japanese composer and musical director Joe Hisaishi, particularly his work on Howl’s Moving Castle, Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, and Kiki’s Delivery Service. Performed by the 83-piece Filharmonika Orchestra under the baton of Filipino maestro Gerard Salonga, the original scores from the renowned movies will see its different worlds come to life at the Solaire stage for three nights.

The Symphonic World of Studio Ghibli has four shows scheduled across three days: opening on July 31 at 8:00 PM, followed by August 1 at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM, and concluding on August 2 at 2:00 PM. Fans can avail tickets ranging from P1,999 to P6,999, on April 28 via TicketWorld. Below is the seat map for the show:

Presented in partnership with The Japan Foundation, Manila, the upcoming concert marks the 70th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Philippines and Japan. It also follows the Studio Ghibli co-founder and Grammy Award-winning filmmaker, Hayao Miyazaki, receiving the 2024 Ramon Magsaysay Award.

Founded in 1985, Studio Ghibli is famous for their hand-drawn animation and fantastical world-building. It is best known for the Oscar-winning animation film, Spirited Away, and more recently, the 2024 Best Animated Feature, The Boy and the Heron.
