‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ Releases 50th Anniversary Deluxe Vinyl
The celebrated film soundtrack blends rock ‘n’ roll, glam, and campy theatrics.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show celebrates its 50th anniversary with a special deluxe vinyl edition of its soundtrack, under Ode Records, which first released the soundtrack in 1975.
In honor of this milestone, Ode Records has issued a deluxe edition of the film’s soundtrack, pressed on 180g red-and-gold vinyl. It features a heavyweight gold-foil jacket, a newly designed inner sleeve, and exclusive content, including never-before-seen photos and excerpts from producer Richard Hartley’s production diary.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show has solidified its status as a pop culture phenomenon. An adaptation of the 1973 musical of the same name, it premiered in 1975 and later gained popularity through the years for midnight film screenings, where audiences get to engage in interactive performances as the film plays. This was featured in the book and film adaptation of The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
The film stars Tim Curry as transvestite alien scientist Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Susan Sarandon as Janet Weiss, and Barry Bostwick as Brad Majors, Janet’s fiancé. When the young couple’s car breaks down in the rain near a mysterious castle, they stumble upon a bizarre costumed party, meet Dr. Frank-N-Furter, and witness the creation of a muscular man named Rocky.
