Courtney LaPlante of Spiritbox has teamed up with Riot Games to release a new song, entitled “Ties That Bind.”
Featuring production from renowned producer Joe Ford, the new single comes as the second song from Riot’s upcoming free-to-play PVP game 2XKO, a spin-off of the popular multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA), League of Legends.
The game is set to come out sometime this 2025 on Playstation 5, on Xbox Series X and S, and on Windows. It will feature a 2V2 tag-team style of gameplay wherein those playing can choose two characters from League of Legends at a time.
“Ties That Bind” follows 2XKO‘s theme song “Let’s Go,” which sees the participation of instrumental progressive rock band Polyphia, as well as Jesse Zuretti — a composer best known for his work with Marvel and various metal bands like Intervals, Brand of Sacrifice, Monuments, and more.
For Courtney LaPlante, “Ties That Bind” follows her collaboration with Poppy and Evanescence’s Amy Lee on the single “End Of You,” produced by Jordan Fish and co-written by Fish and Spiritbox guitarist Mike Stringer. Additionally, the new song also follows Spiritbox’s collaboration track with BABYMETAL, entitled “My Queen” — the seventh track from BABYMETAL’s fifth studio album Metal Forth.
