Shrek The Musical is looking for their Young and Teen Fiona to join the cast of the upcoming production.

Last March, it was announced that Shrek The Musical will bring the swamp to Manila for a Philippine production at Newport World Resorts. Open call auditions had previously been held for the roles of Shrek, Princess Fiona, Donkey, Lord Farquaad, Gingy, Pinocchio, and the Wolf.

Newport World Resorts is now on the lookout for fearless performers aged 10 to 12 (Young Fiona) and 14 to 16 (Teen Fiona).

Auditions will be held at the 2F Horizon Centre, 100 Andrews Ave., Newport City. Registration runs from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM with the audition proper from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Audition Requirements

  • Age: 10–12 years old (Young Fiona), 14–16 years old (Teen Fiona)
  • Song to prepare: “I Know It’s Today
  • Soprano vocal range: B3 to C#5
  • Materials: CV, 3-R sized headshot, and a full-body photo

Rehearsals will begin on August 18, from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM. During Tech Week, rehearsals will be extended until 11:00 PM.

The Young and Teen Fiona roles will join the musical’s lead cast which includes Jamie Wilson (Ang Huling El Bimbo The Musical, Matilda the Musical) as Shrek, Krystal Kane (The Sound of Music, Tabing Ilog: The Musical) as Princess Fiona, Topper Fabregas (Sila-Sila, Ang Huling El Bimbo The Musical) as Donkey, and Alfredo Reyes (In the Heights, The Bridges of Madison County) as Lord Farquaad.

Based on the beloved DreamWorks animated franchise and the 1990 book by William Steig, Shrek The Musical follows Shrek as he embarks on a quest to rescue Princess Fiona from Lord Farquaad. Joining him on the journey is Donkey, and together they encounter a colorful cast of quirky fairytale characters, singing and dancing their way through one hilarious musical adventure.

It will be staged at the Newport Performing Arts Theater starting October 31, 2025. Tickets are available at Ticketworld, Newport World Resorts Box Office, and Helixpay, with prices ranging from PHP 1,500 to PHP 4,500.
