Selena Gomez’s beauty brand Rare Beauty has launched its first-ever fragrance, Rare Eau de Parfum, now available at Sephora and RareBeauty.com.

The Rare Eau de Parfum is a warm, spicy gourmand fragrance with notes of caramel, pistachio, and pink pepper, layered with vanilla, ginger, and cocoa, and grounded by earthy sandalwood. It evokes a scent that feels both familiar and unexpected, with a lasting power of up to 12 hours. The 50 ml bottle retails at USD 75 or roughly PHP 4,300.

For those who prefer fragrance on the go, a convenient travel-size spray is also available, which retails at USD 30 or roughly PHP 1,720.

The development was two years in the making, with much of that time devoted to creating an ergonomic bottle design for the perfume. Rare Beauty worked directly with hand therapists to ensure the bottle is easy to open.

Gomez, who has long battled lupus and experiences dexterity challenges, has said that even opening a bottle of water can be difficult for her. With that in mind, she explains, “the bottle also features a twist-and-lock mechanism, ensuring the cap stays securely in place and won’t come loose or go missing.”

Rare Beauty also introduced four Fragrance Layering Balms — Amber Vanilla (warm and delicious), Floral Peony (sweet and sultry), Fresh Bergamot (bright and breezy), and Woody Oak (rich and earthy). Priced at USD 19 or roughly PHP 1,100, these balms are designed to be worn alone or layered with Rare Eau de Parfum. This allows customers to mix and customize their scent with either one or two of the balms.

Aside from prioritizing accessibility and personalization, the brand pledges 1% of all fragrance sales to the Rare Impact Fund, founded by Gomez in 2020 to blend beauty with social impact by supporting youth mental health programs and education.
