South Korean virtual idol group PLAVE have teamed up with beloved Sanrio characters for the release of their second single album, PLBBUU.

The three‑track album serves as a gift to the group’s fandom, PLLI. “Thank you always for waiting for us, and we worked very hard to complete this album with the best quality possible, as much as you have waited for it,” the group shares in a collective statement.

The tracklist includes the title song “BBUU!,” a Korean version of their Japanese pop‑rock debut single “Hide and Seek,” and “Bongsoong‑a.”

The visuals for the release include teaser photos and a music video for the lead single “BBUU!,” featuring the group alongside Sanrio characters such as My Melody, Cinnamoroll, Kuromi, Pompompurin, and Pochacco. The music video features the group wearing cute hats as they travel across the universe on their way to a magical island.

Since their debut in 2023, PLAVE rapidly emerged as one of K-pop’s leading virtual acts. Composed of Yejun, Noah, Eunho, Bamby, and Hamin, they became the first virtual group to enter the Billboard Global 200 chart. Behind the group’s virtual avatars, real-life artists bring the members to life using motion-capture technology.

PLBBUU follows the release of the group’s five-track third mini-album, Caligo Pt. 1, released earlier this year. They embarked on their first Asian tour, the 2025 PLAVE Asia Tour [DASH: Quantum Leap], performing in Seoul, Taipei, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Bangkok, and Tokyo. They are scheduled to hold two-night encore concerts on November 21 and 22 at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, South Korea.
