Ozzy Osbourne’s final memoir, Last Rites, is scheduled for posthumous release this October, following his death on July 22, 2025, at age 76, just weeks after his emotional farewell concert.

In a statement about the release, the Black Sabbath frontman said, “People say to me, if you could do it all again, knowing what you know now, would you change anything? I’m like, f*** no. If I’d been clean and sober, I wouldn’t be Ozzy. If I’d done normal, sensible things, I wouldn’t be Ozzy.”

The announcement follows the ‘Back to the Beginning’ farewell show on July 5, in Birmingham, where Osbourne reunited with the original Black Sabbath members. The performance drew global attention and raised millions for charities including Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorns Children’s Hospice.

Last Rites offers never-before-told stories from Osbourne’s extraordinary life and career. The memoir delves into his “descent into hell” dealing with Parkinson’s. It explores his turbulent marriage to his wife, Sharon, his determined struggle to return to the stage for his monumental farewell concert, and his close relationships with fellow musicians throughout the industry.

This marks the heavy metal icon’s third major memoir, following I Am Ozzy (2010) and its more comedic followup, Trust Me, I’m Dr. Ozzy: Advice from Rock’s Ultimate Survivor (2011).

The memoir arrives on October 7 and is available for pre-order here.
