The animated series adaptation of Devil May Cry, based on the popular Capcom video game series, debuts its first season on Netflix, along with a soundtrack heavy on nu metal and rap metal.
The series comes from showrunner Adi Shankar (Castlevania, Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix) and was previously announced to feature a new track from Evanescence titled “Afterlife.” Papa Roach‘s “Last Resort (Power Glove Version)” is also featured, while Limp Bizkit‘s “Rollin’ (Air Raid Vehicle)” serves as the opening theme.
Here is the track list for the season 1 soundtrack, including a yet-to-be-announced song from Green Day:
- “Afterlife” – Evanescence
- “Rollin’ (Air Raid Vehicle)” – Limp Bizkit
- “Guerrilla Radio” – Rage Against The Machine
- “Last Resort (Power Glove Version)” – Papa Roach
- “Devil Trigger (Power Glove Battle Version)” – Casey Edwards
- “Butterfly” – Crazy Town
- [TO BE ANNOUNCED] – Green Day
- “Bury the Light (Power Glove Approaching The Storm Mix)” – Casey Edwards
- “Ghost (feat. Power Glove)” – Gunship
The series follows Dante (voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch), an orphaned demon hunter for hire, who becomes caught in the crossfire between the human and demon realms, with their fates hanging in the balance. The late Kevin Conroy (known for Batman: The Animated Series) also lends his voice to VP Baines in a posthumous role.
The video game series was also adapted into a 12-episode anime series titled Devil May Cry: The Animated Series, which aired in 2007.
