Nathan Fielder, known for his cringe and awkward comedic persona, meets Nine Inch NailsTrent Reznor and Atticus Ross during their ‘Peel It Back’ North American tour. A longtime fan of the band, Fielder was spotted with the duo backstage at their Vancouver stop in Rogers Arena last August 10.

Fielder rose to fame with the docu-reality series Nathan for You, which ran for four seasons on Comedy Central. His recent credits include co-creating and starring in the satirical black comedy series The Curse with Emma Stone and Benny Safdie.

Most recently, he starred in HBO’s The Rehearsal, a genre-bending series that blurs reality and performance. Its latest season, which premiered last April, features Fielder as a fictionalized version of himself, helping ordinary people rehearse difficult conversations or life events using sets and hired actors to recreate each situation.

Given the show’s nature and narrative, his backstage appearance at the tour and meeting the duo might appear in some form in an upcoming season. Fielder also met Josh Freese, NIN’s current touring drummer, who revealed he’s a fan of the comedian. Freese, who recently played drums for Foo Fighters following the late Taylor Hawkins’ passing, was dismissed from the band last May without explanation.

Meanwhile, Reznor and Ross are currently embarking on their Peel It Back Tour across Europe and North America. It kicked off in July and is set to conclude this September.

The duo are set to release their official soundtrack for Disney’s Tron: Ares on September 17. They released its first single, “As Alive as You Need Me to Be,” last July. The film is due in Philippine cinemas this October.
