The Substance and Poor Things star Margaret Qualley introduces her musical alter ego, Lace Manhattan, with two original tracks featured on the soundtrack of Ethan Coen’s new neo-noir comedy Honey Don’t!.

The songs “ODDWADD” and “In The Sun She Lies” were produced by Qualley’s husband Jack Antonoff and Coen himself. The project features Qualley as Lace Manhattan alongside co-star Talia Ryder, performing under her own musical persona, Dixie Normus. These alter egos were inspired by behind-the-scenes moments during the film’s production.

The music videos for the two tracks were directed by Ryder herself. The video for “ODDWADD” leans on Qualley’s performance that is reminiscent of her portrayal of Sue in The Substance, while also paired with retro noir styling and a haunting synth-pop sound.

On the other hand, the video for “In The Sun She Lies” offers a soft, melancholic, and reflective approach. It features Qualley and Ryder wearing angel wings as they wander through the streets of New York City.

Honey Don’t stars Qualley as small-town private investigator, Honey O’Donahue, who goes through a series of strange deaths tied to a mysterious church. It is the second installment to Coen’s lesbian B-movie trilogy that started with 2024’s Drive-Away Dolls, which also starred Qualley.

Premiering at Cannes this past May, the cast also includes Ryder as Honey’s niece, along with Aubrey Plaza, Chris Evans, and Charlie Day.

Qualley also collaborated with Antonoff on two songs from Bleachers’ self-titled album. She co-directed, choreographed, and starred in the music video for “Tiny Moves” and made a cameo in the video for “Alma Mater,”

Additionally, she lent her voice to a cover of the Bee Gees’ “How Deep Is Your Love” for Yorgos Lanthimos’ 2024 anthology film Kinds of Kindness.
