For over 20 years in the making, Madonna is making a comeback to acting as she is set to make a guest cameo as herself on the acclaimed Apple TV satirical comedy The Studio season 2.

The Queen of Pop was spotted in Venice on the set of the Emmy-winning series created by Seth Rogen, as filming for the second season has started.

This marks her first live-action acting gig and her first since starring in the 2002 rom-com Swept Away, and her brief cameo on the sitcom Will & Grace in 2003.

Also seen on set are Michael Keaton and Julia Garner, the latter who is currently in the cards to play the music icon in a limited series based on her life and career from Netflix.

The Studio follows Matt Remick (Rogen) as the newly appointed head of the film production company, Continental Studio. He struggles to balance his own cinephile ambitions while sticking with the studio’s corporate decisions and focusing on IP-centered projects. It is praised for its satire on the current entertainment landscape and trends.

The first season made history at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, winning 13 Emmys of its 23 nominations and making it the most-nominated debut for a comedy series in the awards ceremony’s history. It also broke the record for most wins for a comedy series in a single season.

The series stars the late Catherine O’Hara as former Continental Studio head Patty Leigh, the role which earned her the Actor Award for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series, Ike Barinholtz as Continental’s vice president of production, Sal Saperstein, Chase Sui Wonders as junior executive Quinn Hackett, and Kathryn Hahn as the studio’s head of marketing, Maya Mason.
