LISA, Sabrina Carpenter, Pharrell, And More Shine In Louis Vuitton At The 2025 Met Gala

Louis Vuitton, together with Men’s Creative Director Pharrell Williams, celebrated black dandyism and cultural movement with curated pieces worn by celebrities, ambassadors, and friends of the House, at the 2025 Met Gala last May 6 (PH Time).

Acting as a tribute to the fashion brand’s craftmanship and quality, the wardrobe essentials offer a look into the impact of Black cultures, both historically and contemporary, on modern-day style and tailoring. The looks created for friends and ambassadors of the House have embodied the meticulous language of LV’s men’s tailoring with intricate jackets, trousers with elements of workwear and sportswear.

LISA, Sabrina Carpenter, Pharrell, And More Shine In Louis Vuitton At The 2025 Met Gala

At the 2025 Met Gala, Zendaya donned an all-white Louis Vuitton look composed of a single-breasted tuxedo with flared trousers woven in white matte silk and radzimir, along with a matching waistcoat. Additionally, it was worn over a white silk dress shirt, a white silk wide necktie, and paired with a white felt hat. The tailor-made suit embodies the Black dandyism’s superfine spirits and its zoot suits that take inspiration from classic men’s tailoring in the 1980s and the suit-centric fashion photography that was popular at the time.

Sabrina Carpenter turned heads when she attended the event wearing a bold ensemble with a color that resembled her hit song, “Espresso.” Composed of a tailcoat elongated into a train, the look was tailored in pin-striped burgundy wool jacquard with crystal buttons, along with a corseted body structure in the same cloth. The look transforms the dandy tailcoat into a piano jacket, inspired by the stage suits worn by 20th-century showmen. Moreover, the pinstripes are an homage to the style and attitude of the “Jazz Age” dandy in the 1920s.

Making her Met Gala debut, LISA did not feel out of place. The Thai singer-rapper’s look was composed of a men’s blazer into a boned basque jacket layered over a corseted body, with Monogram tights. Though not pictured, the look was complemented with a men’s single-breasted, floor-length evening coat. Meanwhile, the jacket replicates elements of an artwork by artist Henry Taylor with portraits of figures integral to his life, and overlaid with the Louis Vuitton Flower Monogram and hand-embellished with crystals.

Doechii made sure her first Met Gala appearance was something to remember. The “Anxiety” hitmaker wore a tailcoat and a matching waistcoat worn over a white poplin dress shirt with shorts. The tailcoat and waistcoat feature pearl-encrusted buttons, tailored in fine wool inscribed with the Louis Vuitton Monogram. To complete the look are the burgundy silk socks and bow. Created for the singer-rapper, the tailleur was inspired by the fashion of the 18th-century Afro-Carribean fencing master Julius Soubise, who was a Black dandy in British high society known for his dapper style.

Actor and Dua Lipa’s beau Callum Turner was looking very James Bond in his Met Gala ensemble, wearing a cropped double-breasted blazer in windowpane jacquard woven in charcoal bouclé yarn, along with black wool flared trousers. Underneath the suit was a pearl-colored silk moiré dress shirt and a pearl-coloured cravat hand-embroidered with beads and crystals. The cropped jacket and flared trousers pay homage to the windowpane chequers introduced in the 1920s as an addition to the masculine embellishment.

The Bear star and EMMY-Award winner Jeremy Allen White donned a three-piece suit composed of a single-breasted jacket with a waistcoat and flared trousers woven in fine pinstriped wool jacquard. The ensemble was worn over a shirt and a black silk necktie, paying homage to the emblematic pattern present in classic 20th-century dandy dressing. On the other hand, the pinstriped suit was initially worn by late 19th-century England bankers, which was then adopted by America during the Jazz Age.

Rapper, singer, and record producer, Future, wore a tailored track jacket and matching pleated, flared trousers in textured bouclé wool woven in a grey Prince of Wales jacquard with burgundy highlights and adorned with crystals and beads. Underneath the tracksuit was a white cotton shirt, a black silk tie, black leather driving gloves, and black LV Clash sunglasses. The ensemble takes inspiration from workwear, sportswear, and streetwear culture. To complement the outfit, Future carried the signature Bandoulière 40 special edition of the Speedy P9 bag.

Rapper Pusha-T donned a double-breasted blazer and matching flared trousers tailored in burgundy pinstriped wool jacquard woven in a relief texture. To add more flare to the ensemble, the jacket’s shoulder panel was hand-embroided with fading crystals. Worn over a white poplin dress shirt with a burgundy textured silk necktie, the look was completed with the metal-studded LV Oxford brogues in black leather. The look celebrates the pinstriped suit showcased as the emblem of the Black dandy wardrobe.

Known for his acrylic paintings and mixed media sculptures, Henry Taylor graced the 2025 Met Gala wearing an over-shirt tailored in a Prince of Wales wool jacquared, along with black double-plated wool trousers. The white poplin shirt features artwork by Taylor himself, and a trilby hat to complete the look. Overall, the ensemble pays tribute to the influence the renowned artist with portraits of people and figures important to his life, which was the same motif as what LISA wore.

Filmmaker Malcolm Washington (The Piano Lesson) rocked a double-breasted smoking jacket and flared black Italian wool trousers. Worn over a white sea island poplin dress shirt with a black silk necktie, the look was paired with LV Bubble loafers in black leather. The ensemble reimagined the classic tuxedo look through the vision of the Louis Vuitton Studio Prêt-à-Porter Homme and its atelier.

Last but not the least, LV’s Men’s Creative Director Pharrell Williams showcased a double-breasted, cropped evening jacket that was hand-crafted in interlaced white pearls. The different sizes of the pearl created a pinstriped effect, while the fine black wool flared trousers perfectly contrasted the rest of the look. Williams wore a white sea island cotton shirt and a black silk tie underneath and the LV Jazz derbies in butter-soft black leather to complete the look.
