Kpop Demon Hunters‘ real-life Rumi, Arden Cho, has finally found her next K-pop gig — this time starring in the upcoming horror-thriller film about the industry, titled Perfect Girl.
The upcoming project is also set to star real-life K-pop idol Jeon Somi, as well as actress Adeline Rudolph, as the fellow lead actresses of the movie. The plot has been dubbed by industry insiders as “Scream meets Black Swan” and follows the journey of young idol trainees preparing for their debut in a newly-formed K-pop supergroup. Read through the official premise of the film below:
“With only four spots available in the band and the final cut a week away, the competition is off the charts. When a talented and mysterious new girl is introduced at the last minute, things start to get strange — girls are being hunted and attacked one by one, but who is responsible for the carnage, and more importantly…who will make the final cut?”

Perfect Girl is set to feature six original tracks composed for the film, and is set to “blend the worlds of music and film.” The film will be directed by Hong Won-ki (Goedam), with a script penned by Lynn Q. Yu, produced by Badlands, John Wick outfit Thunder Road Productions, as well as Arden Cho herself.
Jeon Somi’s involvement in the highly anticipated project marks her debut acting gig in a film, with Badlands’ producer Scott Strauss expressing his excitement at her participation in Perfect Girl. “We are so excited Jeon Somi is making her film debut in Perfect Girl. She is a one-of-a-kind talent whose chemistry with Arden and Adeline is off the charts. The three will elevate our chills, thrills, and drama and collaborate with Director Hong to ensure an authentic portrayal of Korean culture and the world of K-pop,” he said to Deadline.
In other K-pop news, Jeon Somi just released her latest extended play, Chaotic & Confused, earlier this August — which featured the viral singles “EXTRA” and “CLOSER.” The record was released under Teddy Park’s THEBLACKLABEL, where Somi is labelmates with fellow rising K-pop sensations, MEOVV.
Arden Cho continues to reap the success of her role as the lead of Kpop Demon Hunters, having recently covered the track “FREE” from the film’s soundtrack with Cha Eun-woo for Netflix. Check out the full cover here.
